Buying from eBay is perfectly safe and can save you a great deal of money – provided that you are sensible and don’t take any unnecessary risks. Unfortunately there are a lot of scammers on the internet and they thrive on offering deals which seem too be good to be true and this is because they often are.
Generally it’s a good idea to ask plenty of questions, such as how often the dress has been worn and if there is any damage. It might seem obvious but sometimes people think that very minor damage isn’t worth mentioning so it’s worth avoiding disappointment by getting as much detail as you can. You’ll also be able to judge whether the seller is genuine or not from the answer they give.
Check the colour is the same as the picture. People sometimes use a picture of the same dress from a retailer’s web site or from the dress designer’s site and this can be misleading. Often it is done quite innocently so it’s always worth asking, just to make sure.

If you see a designer dress advertised as a size 12 it is likely an actual size 10 in the UK.
