Family Matters

M&S Wedding InsuranceMy family has never met my partner’s family and I don’t know if they’ll really get on. How do I make sure that everything goes smoothly on the day?

Potential in-laws meeting is always a nervy event. I would suggest having them all over for dinner or lunch before the wedding, either at a neutral venue such as a restaurant or at one of your homes. This should break the ice before the big day when everyone will be a bag of nerves anyway. The night before your wedding you could have another family get together just to make sure that things will go smoothly the next day.

My father died a few years ago and I’m wondering who might give me away. Could it be anyone I choose or does it have to be a family member?

Sorry to hear about your father.
It can be whoever you would like it to be! If you are getting married in a church it might be an idea just to mention it to the vicar so they are aware of your circumstances, but apart from that you can choose who you like.
